Swinburne University of Technology is looking for a Disk Imaging Assistant to join their Centre for Transformative Media Technologies.
The Disk Imaging Assistant will create disk images of many software artefacts and build legacy environments for their emulation in the Emulation as a Service Infrastructure (EaaSI) platform. The appointee will be a team member on the ARC LIEF-funded project “The Australian Emulation Network: Accessing born digital cultural collections”.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Understanding of digital and software preservation theory, workflows and practices
- Skills in imaging a variety of floppy and optical disk formats, using tools such as Kryoflux & Applesauce etc
- Ability to follow disk imaging workflows, document processes in standard word processing, spreadsheet and database packages and manage the data generated
- Experience using Emulation-as-a-Service and Emulation-as-a-Service Infrastructure
